Pakistan, July 22 -- Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar met with President of the United Nations General Assembly, Philemon Yang, in New York on Monday. Both leaders discussed several important global matters, including the ongoing situation in the Middle East, developments in Iran and Afghanistan, and regional peace and security.
During the meeting, Ishaq Dar stressed the need for a stronger and more responsive United Nations. He emphasized Pakistan's strong belief in multilateralism and called for urgent reforms in the UN, especially within the Security Council. He added that the Council must become more democratic and effective to truly represent the global community.
