Pakistan, June 25 -- Pakistan's electricity generation saw a strong boost in May 2025, climbing 21% month-on-month to reach 12,755 GWh, compared to 10,513 GWh in April. This marked the highest monthly output in the past nine months, according to a report by Topline Securities.
The rise in electricity generation was driven by several factors including hotter weather, increased demand, and a recent government decision to reduce electricity prices. A significant boost in hydel power output also contributed to the overall increase.
