Pakistan, Jan. 1 -- Pakistan's literacy rate has increased to 63 percent, according to the Household Economic Survey. The report shows gradual improvement over five years, with a rise of just 3 percent. Punjab recorded the highest literacy at 68 percent, while Balochistan remained the lowest at 49 percent.

The survey highlighted a reduction in out-of-school children, dropping from 30 percent to 28 percent. Internet access has surged from 34 percent to 70 percent, and internet users now make up 57 percent of the population. Mobile or smartphone access in households reached 96 percent, showing widespread digital adoption.
