ISLAMABAD - Pakistan's gold jewellery exports have entered their worst crisis in 50 years after the suspension of SRO 760 completely halted shipments, threatening millions of dollars in pending orders. The suspension, which became effective on May 6, 2025, was initially introduced for 60 days to address tax and regulatory concerns. However, due to delays in industry compliance, the restrictions have continued, creating a severe deadlock. As a direct result, Pakistan has lost an estimated $15 million in just four months, with no jewellery exports leaving the country.
