Pakistan, Dec. 5 -- The government of Pakistan is preparing a stricter regulatory framework for used car imports to safeguard local manufacturing and ensure only vehicles meeting safety and environmental standards enter the country.
A detailed meeting was held between the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Industries and Production, Haroon Akhtar Khan, and the auto industry delegation to review pressing challenges facing the sector.
Industry representatives, including the Pakistan Auto Manufacturers Association, stressed that tax reforms and tighter import controls are crucial to stabilising domestic production and encouraging fresh investment in local manufacturing.
