ISLAMABAD, Oct. 2 -- The federal government has introduced 62 mandatory safety and quality standards for both locally manufactured and imported vehicles, in line with conditions set by the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The notification was issued by the Engineering Development Board (EDB) under the Ministry of Industries and Production (MoI&P).
The new regulations represent a substantial increase from the previous 17 standards, adding 45 more requirements aimed at enhancing road safety, environmental compliance, and consumer protection.
