The visitors dominated early, pressing hard and creating scoring chances, yet Argentina held their nerve. The contest kept fans on edge until the final whistle.
Pakistan started strongly, with Waheed Ashraf Rana testing goalkeeper Tomas Santiago twice. Argentina struggled with early penalty corners, but Thomas Habif and Ignacio Nardolillo combined to open the scoring. Argentina led 1-0 at halftime after a well-crafted goal by Tomas Domene.
