Pakistan, July 12 -- Authorities across Pakistan have issued flood alerts due to ongoing heavy monsoon rains. The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and Punjab's Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) warned of moderate to heavy rainfall, rising river flows, and possible flash floods in many areas, especially vulnerable low-lying regions.

The alerts, effective until July 17, cover urban centers like Lahore and Islamabad, as well as flood-prone hill torrent zones in southern Punjab and Balochistan. The monsoon system is expected to intensify because of moisture coming from the Arabian Sea, increasing rainfall and river levels.
