Pakistan, July 4 -- Pakistan is addicted to fossil fuels and nuclear power when it comes to electricity generation. According to the Pakistan Economic Survey (2023-24), the country generated 48.57% of its electricity from thermal sources and another 18.65% from nuclear power in the fiscal year 2023. Altogether, this represented over 67% of the total electricity produced during FY 2023. This is quite unsustainable, and Pakistan must do all it can to turn its power sector towards more sustainable sources of electricity generation.
