Pakistan, June 4 -- ISLAMABAD - The federal government has started the process of canceling passports of more than 7,800 Pakistanis who were deported from various countries for begging and other illegal acts. Officials informed a Senate committee that these individuals were mainly expelled from Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Qatar between 2019 and 2025.
According to data from the Federal Investigation (FIA) and Pakistani missions abroad, around 5,600 of these deportees were involved in begging. Their names have now been added to the Passport Control List (PCL), and the Interior Ministry has begun canceling their passports to discourage the rising trend of such behavior.
