Pakistan, Oct. 19 -- The National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC) announced that over 43.3 million children under five have been vaccinated during the first five days of Pakistan's ongoing nationwide anti-polio campaign. The campaign aims to immunize more than 45 million children before its conclusion. Officials emphasized that repeated doses of the oral polio vaccine remain the only effective way to prevent this highly contagious and incurable disease, which can cause lifelong paralysis if left unchecked.
