Pakistan, Oct. 15 -- OpenAI has announced plans to ease restrictions on its ChatGPT chatbot by allowing erotic content for verified adult users, marking a major shift in the platform's content policy. The company described the change as part of its new "treat adult users like adults" principle, aiming to create a more open and customizable experience for mature audiences.

In a statement shared on X, CEO Sam Altman said that earlier safety controls, introduced to address mental health concerns, had made ChatGPT "less useful or enjoyable" for users who did not face such issues. He explained that OpenAI's updated safety tools now make it possible to balance user freedom with effective safeguards against harmful content.
