Pakistan, June 22 -- KARACHI - Director General of Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif, said on Sunday that only the state has the constitutional authority to declare jihad. He stressed that no individual or group can make such decisions independently, as doing so undermines national security and unity.
Speaking during a special session with religious leaders and community representatives in Karachi, Gen. Sharif highlighted that followers of all religions in Pakistan are equal citizens. He emphasized that peace, harmony, and mutual respect are the foundations of national strength and progress.
