Pakistan, July 3 -- After recently increasing the salaries of Punjab's ministers, the provincial government has also decided to raise their leave allowances. Now, ministers, the Speaker, and Deputy Speaker of the Punjab Assembly will receive their full salaries even when they are on leave.

The Punjab Assembly passed the Punjab Public Representatives (Amendment) Bill 2025 in its latest session. This bill amends the Punjab Minister (Salary, Allowance, Privileges) Act 1975 to ensure no salary deductions during leave. Previously, ministers got a reduced payment during leave. For example, a minister with a salary of 100,000 PKR received only 74,000 PKR for one month of leave.
