Pakistan, Oct. 22 -- NEPRA's recent downward revision in the utility's multi-year tariff (MYT) will not affect electricity bills for Karachi consumers.
According to KE spokesperson Imran Rana, the Rs 7.60 per unit reduction, from Rs 39.97 to Rs 32.37 relates solely to the company's internal financial framework under the MYT 2024-2030. It does not apply to consumer billing.
The clarification follows public confusion stemming from reports suggesting a possible drop in power tariffs.
KE reaffirmed that consumer rates remain governed by uniform national tariff policy, as determined by the federal government.
