Pakistan, July 2 -- The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has announced a reduction in electricity base tariffs starting July 1, 2025. This decision was made after a public hearing on the federal government's request for a uniform tariff across the country. The move is aimed at providing relief to millions of electricity consumers.
According to NEPRA, electricity has been made cheaper by Rs1.15 per unit for all categories except lifeline consumers. This reduction applies to K-Electric and all other power distribution companies. However, NEPRA did not give a clear answer regarding the previously expected Rs7.41 relief for consumers, creating some uncertainty.
