Pakistan, July 4 -- Myanmar's ruling junta claimed on Friday that it had already released 93 children from military service, responding to a recent UN report that accused it of widespread child recruitment. The military stated that it had conducted a verification process last year, which resulted in the discharge of these minors, who were also given financial support after their release.
The government-backed committee announced that only 18 suspected child recruitment cases remain under review. However, the junta did not clarify exactly when the 93 minors were released, raising concerns about transparency.
