Pakistan, July 25 -- Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah met with a senior World Bank (WB) delegation in Karachi on Friday, praising the bank's strong partnership-particularly its role during the 2022 floods-and calling for accelerated support on ongoing projects across key sectors.
Led by WB Vice President for MENAAP, Ousmane Dione, the delegation reviewed progress on Sindh's $4.01 billion active portfolio. The meeting covered urban development, flood recovery, water and sanitation, social protection, housing, and climate resilience efforts. Murad highlighted the bank's critical contribution in post-flood housing, where 600,000 homes have already been built, with over 1.3 million bank accounts opened to support reconstruction.
