Lahore, Sept. 10 -- At least 16 fishermen were reportedly killed by Mozambican troops while they were camped on Rolas islet in Cabo Delgado province, according to the conflict monitoring group ACLED on Wednesday.
The incident occurred on Monday, around eight kilometres off the coast, while forces were pursuing Islamist insurgents in the region. ACLED said local sources confirmed the fishing community was directly targeted by the soldiers.
