MANSEHRA, Jan. 13 -- Police have deployed additional personnel along the Karakoram Highway (KKH) in Upper Kohistan following a crackdown on miscreants in the district, officials said on Monday.

Upper Kohistan District Police Officer Tahir Iqbal said a search-and-strike operation had been launched to target criminals and ensure the safety of Chinese engineers and workers involved in the Dasu and Diamer-Basha hydropower projects. Ten criminals wanted for murder and other serious crimes were arrested, and arms and ammunition were recovered.
