Pakistan, July 22 -- The recent spell of monsoon rains has left large parts of Punjab, KP, Sindh, and Gilgit-Baltistan submerged in what is less a natural disaster than a governance failure. Over 190 lives have been lost since June.

Punjab alone accounts for more than 120 fatalities. Thousands of homes have been damaged, roads rendered impassable, entire valleys cut off, and municipal services stalled.

In Naran and Babusar, 15 tourists remain unaccounted for. In Khwazakhela, families have watched loved ones swept away. Karachi has once again descended into chaos-live wires, collapsed buildings, and flooded streets. This scale of destruction did not unfold overnight. It has been years in the making.
