Pakistan, July 20 -- The recent spell of monsoon rains in Punjab has turned deadly, as 135 people have lost their lives in weather-related incidents. The Provincial Disaster Management Authority released these figures on Sunday.
The PDMA reported that 479 citizens also suffered injuries due to incidents such as roof collapses, lightning strikes, electrocutions, and drownings. Additionally, around 156 houses have been damaged throughout the province.
Although no rain fell during the past 24 hours, officials warn that the fourth spell of monsoon showers is expected to begin Sunday evening. Urban flooding is likely in several major cities.
