Pakistan, July 11 -- The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab has issued a flood alert for the Indus River at Chashma, warning of moderate flooding due to rapidly increasing water levels. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation as inflows and outflows continue to rise.
As of Thursday, the Chashma Barrage recorded an inflow of 390,000 cusecs and an outflow of 370,000 cusecs, indicating growing pressure and potential downstream risk. PDMA officials cautioned that water levels may further increase due to ongoing upstream inflows and potential monsoon rains.
