Chief Scientist at the Wheat Research Institute (WRI), Ayub Agricultural Research Institute (AARI) Faisalabad, Dr. Javed Ahmad has announced a major breakthrough in Pakistan's agricultural sector: the successful development of local soybean varieties capable of withstanding temperatures up to 45degC. This innovation is expected to save the country nearly $1 billion annually in soybean imports.
