Pakistan, Oct. 14 -- Life in the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad is returning to normal after days of unrest, but Twin cities TLP tension still lingers. Roads are now open, markets have reopened, and private schools resumed operations, though some closed early. Residents remain cautious as police maintain a strong presence across the cities.
The tension followed clashes between police and Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) activists. Over 230 TLP members were arrested in Rawalpindi during a crackdown. Authorities implemented Section 144, deployed more than 6,500 security personnel, and established 37 police checkpoints to maintain law and order. Metro bus services remain suspended in some areas.
