Pakistan, Feb. 5 -- Kite-related business has surged across Lahore as Basant celebrations approach, with sales of kites and string crossing the remarkable Rs 1.22 billion mark within just four days. The strong commercial activity reflects renewed public excitement and large-scale participation after years of restrictions on the traditional festival.
According to the Kite Flying Association's legal adviser Malik Faizan Ahmed, more than one million kite reels were sold on the fourth day alone, along with over 20,000 spools of kite string. Despite rising prices, demand remained high, showing that consumers were willing to spend heavily on festive supplies.
