Pakistan, July 3 -- Lahore has witnessed a sharp drop in crime during the first half of 2024, according to a newly released police report. Compared to the same period in 2023, serious crime cases have decreased by nearly 50%. Officials say this marks one of the safest six-month periods in recent years for the city.
The report, based on emergency calls made to helpline 15 and FIRs filed, shows a clear downward trend. From January to June 2023, 24,445 serious crimes were reported in Lahore. However, in the same months of 2024, this number dropped significantly to 12,484 - cutting the crime rate nearly in half.
