Pakistan, Oct. 4 -- The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) cabinet has approved the withdrawal of the May 9 case related to violence in Mardan. This case involves incidents of stone-pelting and firing that injured protesters, passersby, and police officers. The approval was given recently to drop the charges linked to these events.
Following this decision, the KP government transferred the public prosecutor handling the case. Additional Advocate General Inamullah has been appointed as the special prosecutor for this matter. He submitted a letter from the Additional Home Secretary in court to initiate the case withdrawal process.
