Pakistan, Dec. 14 -- King Charles has delighted families and researchers this Christmas season with a thoughtful gesture, sending a special surprise to the UK's Rothera Research Station in Antarctica, months in the making.
The gift, a brand-new postbox featuring The King's cypher, was arranged through the Royal Mail and British Antarctic Survey to help researchers send and receive mail in one of the world's most remote locations.
The initiative came after researchers requested a "new proper post box" for the station, highlighting the importance of communication for those posted far from their families during long Antarctic assignments.
