Pakistan, July 22 -- Hamas leader Khaled Mashal has reached out to Maulana Fazlur Rehman, chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F), in a phone call. During the conversation, Mashal informed Fazlur Rehman about the dire situation in Gaza, where food and medicine are in dangerously short supply. He urged him to use Pakistan's diplomatic influence to help open humanitarian aid routes into the region.

Mashal specifically appealed to the Pakistani government to play a key role in pushing for the delivery of life-saving medical supplies and food into Gaza.
