Pakistan, Jan. 23 -- Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev will visit Pakistan on February 3, 2026, to sign a $7 billion rail connectivity pact. The project will link Pakistan with Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, and Kazakhstan, enhancing regional trade. Officials said the agreement will make Pakistan a key transit hub for Central Asia.
During a preparatory meeting, Kazakhstan's Ambassador Yerzhan Kistafin and Pakistan's Railways Minister Muhammad Hanif Abbasi discussed project details. They highlighted the rail network's importance for trade and regional connectivity. Both sides emphasized completing the project within three years to meet growing transport demands.
