Pakistan, July 4 -- Public transport services in Karachi, including the BRT Green Line and the Peoples Bus Service, have been partially suspended due to security concerns during Muharram-ul-Haram. Authorities say the move ensures public safety during large religious processions.
According to a spokesperson, the Green Line BRT will be completely shut down on the 8th, 9th, and 10th of Muharram. The Peoples Bus Service will also face major route closures across the city during these days.
On the 9th and 10th of Muharram, seven out of ten main bus routes will not operate, significantly affecting daily commuters. On the 8th of Muharram, five routes will run on a partially suspended schedule, the spokesperson confirmed.
