Pakistan, Dec. 24 -- Karachi Commissioner Syed Hassan Naqvi has imposed a daytime ban on heavy vehicles in the city for two months to reduce congestion and road accidents. The restrictions, issued under Section 144 CrPC, will be effective from December 23, 2025, to February 22, 2026. The ban covers most heavy vehicles, including dumpers carrying construction material, during daytime hours.

Under the orders, heavy traffic is completely barred from Jinnah Avenue, from Super Highway near Saima Pari Classic and Rufi Global City up to Malir Halt, Shahrah-e-Faisal. Vehicles transporting essential commodities such as water, edible oil, medical gases, and meat are exempted from the restrictions.
