Pakistan, June 22 -- ISLAMABAD - Senior Supreme Court judge Justice Mansoor Ali Shah has strongly opposed the extension of the constitutional bench's tenure, warning that such a move could damage public trust in the judiciary.
In a letter sent to the Judicial Commission's Secretary on June 16 and later shared with other members, Justice Shah cautioned against extending the bench's term before resolving the 26th Constitutional Amendment case. He said rushing such decisions could hurt the judiciary's credibility and impartiality.
