Pakistan, May 19 -- The Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) on Monday officially nominated Justice Muhammad Ejaz Swati as the next Chief Justice of the Balochistan High Court (BHC). He has been serving as the acting chief justice since February 14, 2025. The nomination now awaits formal approval from the president of Pakistan.

A press release from the Supreme Court's public relations office confirmed that the JCP held a meeting to consider the appointment. After discussion, the commission unanimously agreed to recommend Justice Swati for the top position at the BHC. A circular has been sent to the prime minister's office for further action.
