Pakistan, June 22 -- LOS ANGELES - Hollywood star Johnny Depp has opened up about the downside of fame in a rare and revealing interview, saying he never wanted to be famous and never chased the spotlight.

Speaking to The Sunday Times, the 62-year-old actor said, "Fame is the last thing I ever chased." Depp added that his decades-long career was never about making hits or pleasing people. "If you look at the 9,000 years I've been doing this, it's clear I wasn't thinking about becoming more famous," he said.
