Pakistan, July 17 -- A convoy of Israeli military vehicles crossed into Syrian territory near the Druze town of Majdal Shams in the Golan Heights on Thursday, following powerful airstrikes on Damascus the previous day. The convoy included four Humvees towing equipment and one transport vehicle carrying troops.
The vehicles drove along a road close to the border fence, where a gate was opened to let them pass into Syria. This move came amid heightened tensions after Israel vowed to destroy Syrian government forces attacking Druze communities in southern Syria.
