GAZA CITY, July 6 -- At least 32 Palestinians were killed in Israeli airstrikes on Sunday, with 29 deaths reported in Gaza City alone, according to hospital sources. The bombardment came as Israel signaled a willingness to resume indirect ceasefire negotiations with Hamas in Doha under growing global pressure.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu approved sending negotiators for proximity talks after a five-hour cabinet meeting. Although he called Hamas's changes to the Qatari proposal "unacceptable," Netanyahu agreed to move forward in hopes of securing the return of Israeli hostages and easing international criticism.
