Pakistan, July 19 -- Israel and Syria have reached a ceasefire agreement following several days of deadly clashes. The ceasefire was made possible with the support of Turkey, Jordan, and other regional players, according to U.S. Ambassador to Turkey Thomas Barrett.

Barrett urged all warring factions to immediately lay down their weapons and join efforts to rebuild war-torn Syria.

The recent violence erupted in Syria's Druze-majority city of Sweida, where sectarian clashes have claimed the lives of over 300 people and injured hundreds more.
