Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar accused politicians of opposing the Gaza peace deal for political reasons. He spoke at a press conference in Islamabad. He asked critics whether they wanted innocent civilians to keep bleeding. Dar said the meeting with US President Donald Trump and eight Muslim leaders aimed to restore peace in Gaza.
He added that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif supported clear goals for peace from the start. Therefore, Pakistan engaged other Muslim countries before attending the UN General Assembly. Dar said eight countries tried to find a way to stop the violence. He said their goal was to end the immediate fighting and save lives.
