Pakistan, July 8 -- Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has said his country is open to restarting nuclear talks with the United States-if Washington can rebuild trust after recent hostilities. In an interview with Tucker Carlson released on Monday, Pezeshkian stressed that Tehran has "no problem" re-entering negotiations, but it needs firm guarantees that similar attacks will not happen again.
The remarks come weeks after a short but intense war between Iran and Israel, which also saw U.S. strikes on Iranian nuclear sites. These attacks halted scheduled talks between Tehran and Washington, leading to increased tensions. "How can we trust the US again if Israel is allowed to strike us in the middle of talks?" Pezeshkian questioned.
