Pakistan, June 15 -- NICOSIA - Cyprus revealed on Sunday that Iran has asked it to deliver "some messages" to Israel, as tensions between the two countries continue to escalate in the Middle East.

President Nikos Christodoulides confirmed the development while urging all parties to show restraint. Although he did not disclose the content or sender of the messages, he acknowledged that communication came after Cyprus' foreign minister held talks with his Iranian counterpart on Friday night.

The Cypriot president also spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, as well as leaders from Egypt, the UAE, and Greece, highlighting Cyprus's active role in regional diplomacy during this crisis.
