Rajeev Shukla, IPL chairman, has been named interim president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). He will serve as acting president until the next elections in September. This decision came after Roger Binny stepped down as BCCI president.

According to NDTV, Roger Binny is no longer the BCCI president, creating a vacancy in the top post. Rajeev Shukla, who was vice president, now takes charge temporarily. He will lead the board until the scheduled elections are held.

Rajeev Shukla was unanimously reappointed as IPL chairman in 2015. He was also elected BCCI vice president unopposed on December 18, 2020. His experience positions him well to handle the interim role.
