Pakistan, Aug. 11 -- Indonesia has confirmed its plan to increase the mandatory palm oil content in biodiesel to 50% by 2026, but officials say the programme will likely not start in January. The move aims to reduce the country's dependence on imported fossil fuels while supporting domestic palm oil production. However, technical testing and preparations could push the launch date further into the year.

Currently, Indonesia uses a 40% palm oil blend, known as B40, in its biodiesel. The government hopes the shift to B50 will strengthen energy security and promote sustainability.
