Pakistan, July 8 -- Former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi have urged the Islamabad High Court to hold an early hearing on their appeals in the £190 million case. The couple filed new petitions through their lawyer, Barrister Salman Safdar, requesting the court to speed up the process and schedule the hearing without delay.
The appeals are related to their conviction on January 17, 2025. According to the petition, the appeals for suspension of the conviction were filed by January 27, but the case has seen little progress. The first hearing on the suspension plea was held on May 15, nearly four months after filing, raising concerns over the slow pace of proceedings.
