Pakistan, Jan. 9 -- Tensions across the United States escalated after two shootings involving federal immigration officers in as many days, as disputes grew between state and federal officials over enforcement tactics under Donald Trump's immigration crackdown.
In Minnesota, protests intensified after an officer from Immigration and Customs Enforcement fatally shot a 37-year-old mother, with state officials disputing federal claims and saying investigators were denied access to evidence.
Meanwhile, in Portland, Oregon, a US Border Patrol agent shot and wounded a man and a woman during a traffic stop, as local leaders said they could not independently verify the federal account.
