The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has asked Pakistan to pass a law requiring all Grade 17 to 22 government officers to declare their assets. The IMF wants this law to be in place by December 2025. The demand came during the IMF team's ongoing visit to Pakistan.

The IMF also urged Pakistan to amend the Government Servants Conduct Rules. These changes would allow stronger action against public officials found involved in corruption or misconduct. The Fund believes legal reforms are necessary to improve governance and accountability within Pakistan's civil service.
