Pakistan, Jan. 12 -- Chennai and Thiruvananthapuram are being explored as alternate venues for Bangladesh's ICC T20 World Cup 2026 matches, reports Cricbuzz. Bangladesh had earlier requested not to play in India following tensions with the country. The ICC is reportedly considering options, though no final decision has been made.
Bangladesh's decision came after Mustafizur Rahman was released by his IPL team amid diplomatic strains. The Bangladesh Cricket Board formally requested the ICC to shift its matches to Sri Lanka. However, reports suggest the ICC is unlikely to approve Sri Lanka as a venue.
