Pakistan, June 15 -- HYDERABAD - The Sindh government has allocated over Rs20 billion for various development projects in Hyderabad for the fiscal year 2025-26. However, crucial projects related to water filtration, sewage treatment, and public parks have been surprisingly left out of the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP).
The pollution of the Indus River and its canals in Hyderabad is expected to continue unchecked as no major plans for treating municipal, commercial, or industrial sewage have been included. The city's growing population has increased water demand, but only small-capacity water filtration plants of about six million gallons per day are being constructed, instead of a larger central facility.
