Pakistan, July 26 -- Human Rights Department, Government of Sindh has awarded a certificate of Honor to Ms. Shahzadi Rai, elected Member of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation and Human Rights Defender in recognition of her outstanding contributions to the promotion and protection of transgender rights in Sindh. Presented under the "Defender of the Defenders of Human Rights" initiative, the award acknowledges Ms. Rai's pivotal role in advancing legal protections, democratic inclusion, and public awareness for gender minorities, including her advocacy for the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act, 2018, and leadership in organizing Sindh Moorat March.
